Mohammad Mehdi Feizabadi, President of the Iranian Microbiology Society, referring to the holding of the 26th Iranian Microbiology Congress from September 25 to 26 at the Tehran University of Medical Sciences, stated: This congress will be held with the efforts of the Iranian Microbiology Society and with the presence and lectures of the top domestic and foreign professors from China, India, Turkey, Armenia, Arab countries and North America in 15 panels, the most important of which include the Microbial Resistance Panel, and the Microbiome and Reproductive Health Panel. He said: Given the increase in resistant cases among microbial populations and the existence of samples that do not respond to any of the antibiotic drugs, finding an alternative to antibiotics is necessary and essential. Today, the phage therapy method or other antimicrobial agents is being developed and advanced rapidly, and it is expected that this method will respond to treatment in cases where treatment failure is accompanied by antibiotics. For this purpose, a panel called phage therapy has been planned for this congress. This professor from Tehran University of Medical Sciences stated that probiotics play a very important role. In building the body's health, he added: Probiotics are important elements that help various organs and systems of the body in building health, which play an effective and important role in preventing and treating diseases, and one of the important panels of this congress will address the topic of probiotics and their role. According to the announcement of the public relations of the Iranian Microbiology Society, Feizabadi stated: Considering the discussion of the young population and the necessity of addressing fertility problems, we will have a microbiome panel focusing on reproduction and microbial factors affecting the health of the reproductive and reproductive system in the upcoming congress. Referring to various factors in creating microbial resistance to antibiotics and also the excessive use of antibiotics, the head of the Iranian Microbiology Society said: Arbitrary and inappropriate use by the patient, incorrect use during treatment, incorrect diagnosis and prescription of antibiotics, lack of distribution of appropriate antibiotics (poor quality drugs), and failure to conduct accurate and scientific antibiogram tests are some of the factors that cause microbial resistance to antibiotics.
